Today I Answer Your Questions

A good friend of mine pointed out that I have yet to offer a question and answer blog post where I address some of the questions people ask me on occasion.  She always comes through with some really fantastic questions and I love that she challenges me to look deeper at situations and to further explain myself (which isn't always very easy!).  I am frequently asked questions about the afterlife, the death process, if I can tell if someone is a medium, and so much more.  I don't pretend to be an expert on the whole spiritual thing but I do like to think that I can answer each question without bias and the ability to admit that I don't know all of the answers.  Truthfully, I don't think any one person does, and that's ok!  So without further ado, here are your questions and my answer in reply:

1. Who can be a medium?  Anyone can be a medium.  We are all given this ability but most are simply too closed off, in denial, or non-believing to realize their gift.  I also like to compare mediumship to being an athlete.  We all have the ability to throw a baseball but some are better at it than others.  Many people can improve with lots of practice while others may never get even a tiny bit better.  We all have the abilities but there will be people with stronger abilites and a bit more talent.  Regardless of your level, practice always helps.

2.  Can you tell if someone has abilities?  I often can tell if someone else possesses the same gifts as I do (or other gifts).  I may hear my guide or their guide tell me.  I may notice they radiate a specific energy or light.  Or I may just "Know."  I usually will not tell the person what I see unless they ask.  If the person isn't ready to hear this about themselves there is no point in sharing the information.  It's their journey and their task to figure this out on their own.

3.  Could you always see spirits?  Yes and no.  I have always seen spirits in my sleep and I have seen spirits as a child and very rarely as a teen.  I understood as a child what I was seeing and by the time I was a teenager and all hormonal I basically shut down.  I remember seeing and feeling people's energies and knowing when a spirit was around, but when I had the chance I would refuse seeing spirits at all costs.  I found it too scary.

4.  How can I become a medium and strengthen my own gifts?  First and foremost, believe in yourself and your abilities.  Self doubt can ruin everything.  Next, start keeping a journal.  Write down everything you experience in your dreams and when awake.  Note taking is very important.  Daily meditation is crucial to your spiritual journey.  It will help you learn to quiet your mind and gain control over many situations.  Using crystals and gemstones that specialize in opening the third eye can be very beneficial.  Lastly, I always recommend reading as many books on the subject as possible.  It helps you gain a new perspective each time and it also will offer some helpful hints.  I've read over a hundred books and each book has given me at least one new method to apply to my own practice.

5.What crystals are your favorite and what do they do? I love crystals and gemstones. It's so hard to choose even a handful of my favorite ones since I build a relationship with each crystal I have (I have over 100!). I do have a select few that stay in my bed with me every night that I couldn't sleep without. I guess you could say those are my favorite. Those are the following: Dream quartz (quartz with epidote), merlinite, mystic merlinite, selenite, mexican crazy lace agate, apophylite, and scenic quartz (lodolite). All of the quartz, merlinites, selenite, and apophylite focus on opening the third eye, dream work, and communication with spirits. The mexican crazy lace agate is a grounding stone and has helped me to have more profound dreams as well. I love them all and everytime I travel they come with me!

6. If you had to recommend 3 crystals everyone should have, what would they be? I would always recommend having a crystal quartz, rose quartz, and Amethyst. The crystal quartz covers everything. It can literally heal any ailment. The rose quartz is for emotional and psychological health. The amethyst helps bring prosperity, can open the third eye, and even helps with addiction.

7. How do you deal with skeptics? Skeptics used to annoy me because they were often very cruel and extremely judgemental. After awhile I no longer let them bother me. Everyone has their own beliefs and not everyone will believe in what I do. I sometimes am saddened by the fact that so many people refuse to believe in the afterlife, spirits, or the ability to speak with the dead. I think that people would be so much more at peace if they believed in more things that they can't explain away with science. Faith is good!

8. How many times a day do you meditate? I try to meditate two times a day (once in the morning and once at night) but it almost always never happens. Meditating at night is what works best for me. I take about 10-20 minutes each night right before bed to sit down and meditate. It helps me clear the stress from my mind and to prepare for going to sleep. I highly recommend it! I also do a slight meditation each time that I do a tarot or soul communication reading. It's my own way to quiet my mind so that I can hear the messages being delivered to me.

9. How do you "cleanse" crystals and how often should this be done? You can actually cleanse your crystals many different ways. A few of my favorites are: 1. Covering the crystal with sea salt and letting it sit for 24 hours. 2. Placing the crystal under running water (the sink works great) for a few seconds and then let it air dry. 3. Burning sage or cedar and running the crystal through the smoke.

I want to thank everyone that submitted their questions. If you have a question related to mediumship, tarot, crystals and gemstones, healing, and more please email me at andreababb4@gmail.com and I will answer your question and add it to my next Q&A blog post.
